Murder Charges After Body Found Off I-26
Woman's body found at Jedburg Road intersection.
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide early Saturday on the exit ramp of Interstate 26 at Jedburg Road.
Deputies were called after the body of an unidentified woman was found shortly after 3 a.m.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury. More information will be released after the autopsy and once the next of kin is notified.
The North Charleston Police Department had told other departments to be on the look out for a vehicle in which a female had been kidnapped at gunpoint about midnight from 5633-G Dorchester Road, according to Berkeley County Sheriff's spokesman Dan Moon.
A vehicle matching that description was spotted by St George police officers and was later found at a club on McKeen Street in St. George. The suspect, Tyler Brown-Kelly, 28, was taken into custody.
Brown-Kelly is charged with murder. He is being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention.
