Busted: Two Arrested for Alleged Child Endangerment

Dorchester County deputies arrested a man and a woman who were allegedly injecting themselves with an opiate with a young child in their car.

Brittany Rachelle Sinclair, 25, and Paul Clingman Mitchell Jr., 23, both of Summerville have been arrested for possession of Schedule IV narcotics, unlawful conduct toward a child and possession of drug paraphernalia for the Oct. 5 incident, according to a Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office report.

Deputies arrived at the Eagle Run neighborhood in Ladson on a call about a suspicious man in a vehicle. Upon investigation, deputies observed Sinclair and Mitchell in a vehicle. When they approached the vehicle, they observed a “small minor child” in a child restraint seat. The age of the child is not disclosed.

Deputies asked Mitchell to exit the vehicle and then noted a syringe and spoon. Both suspects told law enforcement they were injecting themselves with oxyxcodone, according to the report.

Both Mitchell and Sinclair are out on $620 personal recognizance bonds. In 2010, Sinclair pleaded guilty to drug charges, according to Dorchester County First Judicial Circuit Public Index.
