Drunken Teen Mistaken for Dead on Edisto
Dorchester County deputies fish out teenager floating face-down in river.
Dorchester County deputies say a 19-year-old Cottageville man was floating face-down in the Edisto River, causing alarm on July 15.
According to the incident report, deputies approached the man in their boat and shouted commands. By the time they reached him, William Albert Miller finally raised his head out of the water, gasped for air and then fell back face first into the water. Deputies pulled him into the boat.
Deputies allege that Miller was disoriented and "very intoxicated." He was later arrested for public drunkeness and liquor law violations. Miller allegedly had a .08 blood alcohol level, which is legally intoxicated, according to the report.
In the report, Miller allegedly told deputies that all he remembered was going to sleep and then waking up in handcuffs on the Jelico boat landing.

So sad. I work in HVAC and cannot find anyone younger than 35 that wants to or will work 30-40 hours a week. If this is how the "young" people of America are going to go through life then we will certainly be doomed as a country. Learning how to enjoy one's "free time" without stupidity should be at the top of this young mans list. Grow up sir and learn what it takes to be a man.

Really, quoting a very young man who is trying to grow up as we all did at that age. I don't know that he should even be arrested. He hurt no one but himself and probably learned a valuable lesson. Give the kid help, not an arrest.
