Free Prostate Cancer Screenings Offered

Trident Health offers four screening days across four sites this month.

Trident Health will offer four free prostate screening opportunities in the Lowcountry.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancer in American men, according to the American Cancer Society. About 241,740 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed this year. Approximately 1 man in 36 will die of prostate cancer.

However, more than 2.5 million men in the United States who have had prostate cancer at some point are still alive today. The death rate is decreasing, in part because of early detection. During September’s Prostate Cancer Awareness month, Trident Health will be offering four free prostate cancer screenings at its medical centers throughout the Lowcountry.

  • 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at Moncks Corner Medical Center
  • 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Trident Medical Center
  • 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at Colleton Medical Center
  • 5 -7p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Summerville Medical Center

To register for a free screenings, call Consult-A-Nurse at 843-797-FIND (3463).
