Going downstairs at 9:30 p.m. Sunday night to investigate a noise, Simone Doxie of Ladson found three men in her house.
The alleged burglarers then reportedly tied her up with an extension cord in her home at Grand Oaks off Ladson Road.
Dorchester County deputies arrived on scene 20 minutes later, after the men had fled and Doxie had called 9-1-1 from a neighbor's house.
According to the incident report, the home's rear door had been kicked in with visible frame damage.
According to the report, Doxie was watching TV upstairs when she heard a noise, like a picture frame falling off the wall. Going downstairs, she discovered two men armed with a gun and a knife. A third man was yelling to them to hurry up, according to the report.
Doxie reported that they demanded to know where the valuables were kept. They allegedly tied her hands behind her back with an extension cord and put her in a downstairs bathroom. According to the report, Doxie remained there for about 10 minutes, waiting for the men to leave the house.
After Doxie thought they had left the house, she untied her hands and ran to the neighbors for help. The neighbors were unaware of the incident next door, according to the report.
A K-9 unit was deployed two hours after the suspects fled, but the track had turned cold. There is no one in custody at this time.
This is the second home invasion the sheriff's office has responded to. The last incident occured March 29 at a home in Indian Springs, which is about 17 miles away from Sunday's incident.
