Man Killed on Ashley Phosphate

A driver allegedly lost control, hitting and killing a man standing near the road.

 

Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet confirmed a man was struck and killed by a car Wednesday along Ashley Phosphate, near La Petite Academy. 

According to Nisbet, Keith Allen Kelso, 53, died at the scene after a driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and struck the man, standing next to his work trailer.

The Post and Courier reports that Gerald Dantzler, 69, of Hanahan, was the driver in the incident. He wasn't injured.

North Charleston Police Department is investigating.
