McGrew Parents Pleaded Guilty to Theft
Parents of the infant fatally mauled in April have pleaded guilty to petit larceny of a relative's wedding ring.
A man charged with child neglect after a dog fatally mauled his infant son stood in court Tuesday on unrelated charges and pleaded guilty with his wife to petit larceny, the Post and Courier reported.
Quintin and Chantel McGrew will pay a $750 fine each.
The Ridgeville couple allegedly took a ring from a Summerville relative and pawned it at less than a 10th of its price. The stolen ring was returned to its owner.
Quintin McGrew still faces the child neglect charge after the Dorchester County ruled Aiden McGrew's death as homicide earlier this year. In late May, McGrew requested a jury trial. The couple also faced allegations of sexual impropriety, and Department of Social Services removed their surviving children for several weeks.
