McKissick Earns Coach of the Year Title

Summerville High coach will be featured on 'The NFL Honors Show' Saturday.

With 60 seasons under his belt as the head coach of the Summerville Green Wave (58 of which were winning seasons), Coach John McKissick has earned the NFL's national recognition of Coach of the Year, according to Panthers.com.

McKissick will be featured on “The NFL Honors Show” 9-11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, on NBC, according to Dorchester County School District Two.

The Carolina Panthers nominated McKissick for the Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year.

"Any honor you get like this, you have to share it with all the people that you've surrounded yourself with over the years," McKissick told Panthers.com. "This is great for our program and our school, and we've got a town full of great fans that support us. I accept this on everybody else's behalf."
