Pinewood Players Head to Citadel, USC

held their first athletic signings of the year on Wednesday. Two senior soccer players Courtney Angotti-Smith and Taylor Darling signed their National Letters of Intent to play soccer at The University of South Carolina and The Citadel, respectively.

Both players were instrumental in the winning of Pinewood’s first SCISA AAA soccer state championships in 2009 and 2010. They were also key members in the Region championship teams of 2009, 2010 and 2011 and the State Runner Up team of 2011.

Angotti-Smith scored her 200th goal in the state final. In 2011, she was Pinewood's Offensive Player of there, leading the team with 46 goals in the season.

Darling was Pinewood's Defensive Player of the Year 2011.

In 2012 both players will lead the team as captains with the hope of helping the team bring home another State Championship.
