Principal Selected for Summerville High
Dorchester Two hires DuBose Middle Principal Kenny Wayne Farrell to replace Buddy Chapel.
Dorchester School District Two has named Kenneth (Kenny) Wayne Farrell as the principal of Summerville High School to replace Buddy Chapel who is leaving to take a position in Pennsylvania.

Farrell has been working in Dorchester School District Two since 1999, holding administrative positions inseveral district schools. Currently he is principal of DuBose Middle School.
Farrell has served as assistant principal of Summerville High School from 1999-2003 and assistant principal of Alston Middle School from 2003-2006, before taking over as principal at DuBose Middle in 2006.
During his tenure at DuBose Middle he has focused on student achievement, resulting in increased test scores each year. This year the school earned a Palmetto Gold Award for student academic performance and the Palmetto SilverAward for Closing the Achievement Gap from the State Department of Education and the Education Oversight Committee.
During the principal search for Summerville High School, a committee of parents, teachers,administrators and district staff interviewed a number of candidates for the position and recommendedKenny Farrell as principal.
