Seattle Seahawk Donates $500 to Fort D
Seahawk cornerback Byron Maxwell gives to his alma mater, Fort Dorchester High.
Former Fort Dorchester High School football player and current cornerback for Seattle Seahawks Byron Maxwell donated $500 to the school counseling department to assist with the Angel Tree program during the holidays.
The Angel Tree program helps needy students at the school and this year provided assistance to three families.
Maxwell went from the Patriots to play for Clemson — where he was called one of the hardest hitting defensive backs in the ACC. He was signed in 2011 to the Seahawks. However, he has only played one game with the team, according to his statistics. He played against San Francisco and made the first NFL tackle of his career.

According to his statistics, Maxwell had 165 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, a sack, four interceptions, 20 pass breakups and six caused fumbles in 1,499 snaps in a school-record-tying 53 games (eight starts) in his college career.
While playing at Fort D, Maxwell was the No. 3 ranked player in the state.
