Town to Give Final Vote to Increase Franchise Fees

Summerville Town Council will vote to authorize a purchase order for installation of sidewalks on East Richardson Avenue in its regular 8 a.m. Monday Finance Committee meeting at Town Hall.

The amount will be $148,849.50 to be paid for through the 2011 Community Development Block Grant. The work will be done through Green Wave Contracting Inc.

During this meeting, council will also vote to purchase the Motorola MCC7500 system in the amount of $481,125.66 on state contract for equipment and services for the Summerville Communications/911 Center to be leased purchased over a four-year term 

Also Monday, Dorchester County Sales Tax Transportation Authority meets at 7 p.m. in Dorchester County Council Chambers. The authority will vote on the bid for Bacons Bridge Road. Dorchester County School District Two's school board meets 4:30 p.m. Monday for a test workshop and 6 p.m. for its regular meeting. 

Summerville Town Council will reconvene 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for its regular meeting at Town Municipal Complex for the final vote on increasing franchise fees from 3 to 5 percent.

Council will also have first reading on its operating budget.
