Watch: Vehicle Goes Up in Flames on Orangeburg Road

Witnesses say all occupants got out before vehicle consumed by fire.

At around 10 p.m. Monday, a sedan traveling north on Orangeburg Road pulled off the side of the road past Boone Hill Road, the occupants fled, and a fire was seen on the car's dash, according to witness accounts.

The vehicle was quickly engulfed in flames as a singular police officer tried to keep onlookers at a safe distance. As debris blew off the vehicle, the first firefighters arrived and quickly extinguished the flames.

One witness said all of the vehicle's occupants made it safely out of the vehicle before it was consumed.
