Waters Test Normal

Advisory to avoid contact with waters in Chandler Bridge Creek, Eagle Creek and portions of the Ashley River canceled.

Bacteria levels in water affected by last week's sewage spill have returned to normal, according to Summerville Commissioners of Public Works.

The original advisory was issued June 30, urging residents to avoid contact with waters in Chandler Bridge Creek, Eagle Creek and portions of the Ashley River.

The advisory followed a sewer overflow at 145 Burton Ave. in the Oakbrook area of town. The overflow of sewage was released from a broken force main south of the bridge on Burton Avenue, according to CPW.
