Woman Found Dead in Backseat of Vehicle
Arrested subject covered in a 'large amount' of blood, according to police.
Update: Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury has identified the body found as Jasmine Marrone, 21, of Tennessee. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
Original Report: Police have arrested a man they say had a dead woman in the backseat of her own vehicle, covered by blankets, Sunday morning at a Shell gas station near I-26 on North Main Street.
Officers originally responded to the area to invesigate a possible intoxicated subject, who was then detained for an outstanding out-of-state warrant.
Officers noticed a "large amount" of blood on his clothing, according to a police statement. Opening the vehicle door, officers discovered the deceased woman.
Police have not released the victim's name or the name of the subject's name as of Sunday.
The investigation is ongoing.
