Your View: ARHS Students Unruly for DUI Lesson

Scarred woman travels to Ashley Ridge High to tell tale of her DUI accident.

A woman sharing her tale of a DUI wreck was mocked at a recent rally at Ashley Ridge High, the Post and Courier reported.

At least one student is facing disciplinary action, the story reported. Some students laughed at the speaker's scars, too.

The professional speaker hired by brewer Anheuser-Busch said she was so thrown off by chatter and disruptive conduct by some members of the school’s junior class that she gave up talking and walked off during her 45-minute appearance Thursday.

“I felt the entire time I was trying to compete with certain students in the audience,” said (Sarah) Panzau, who put her microphone on “full blast” and still couldn’t overcome the audience noise.

Panzau wrote this on her Facebook page about her recent trip to the Palmetto state:

Ok I feel I need to post.... I wanted to give a huge SHOUTOUT to all of the high school students in South Carolina that I spoke to this week that have been overlooked.... A very dear friend once told me IF IT BLEEDS, IT READS... Which is why the disruption at Ashley Ridge has taken precedence over the almost 5000 that I impacted in a positive life changing way.... So I would like to recognize the students at Ashley Ridge, West Ashley, Wando, Goose Creek, and Ashley Hall.... Thank u to all those that opened up their hearts to me and held on to every word I said!!!!!!!
