Library patron, avid reader and former English teacher Edward Roth recommends author Ted Dekker for suspenseful page-turners that are also thought-provoking. Ed recently read THE PRIEST'S GRAVEYARD, published by Center Street, 2011 (360 pages). Its sequel, THE SANCTUARY, will be released this October.
Ed says about Dekker’s books:
When I travel I like to read easy reads. I can put the book down and go to sleep, or get off the airplane, or see the sites. The easy reads won’t intrude on these things. However, when I get home I like to read disturbing and thoughtful books. I like to go to bed wondering what the next chapter will bring me. I like to finish a book and have it bounce around in my thoughts for several days.
I like to think about the book in relation to current events, what is happening in my life, and spiritual issues. THE PRIEST'S GRAVEYARD is a disturbing and thoughtful type of book. Maybe I don’t agree with the actions of the protagonist, but his actions and reasons for his actions sure make me think. Dekker always gives me what I want to read when I am home.
