Dorchester County Library Aide Sylvia Vandertulip recommends Steve Jobs by Walter Issacson for good reading this week:
Walter Issacson’s biography of Steve Jobs is a riveting, comprehensive account of this complicated entrepreneur. Jobs personally selected Issacson to write his story and gave him unprecedented access into his life. Through a series of 40 discussions with Jobs himself and interviews with over 100 friends, family members and coworkers, Issacson crafts an honest book that gives us insight into Jobs’ intense personality.
This over 600 page book spans Jobs’ entire life, from his adoption, youth, through his many successes and a few failures both personally and professionally, (including his health problems), until his retirement from Apple in 2010. Issacson does not sugar-coat this brilliant man. Rather he reveals what it must have been like to be Steve Jobs and work or live with him. The result is a must-read book that will fascinate those who have any interest in the subject.
