Education Panel to discuss school choice, common core standards

The LowCountry 9.12 Project in Summerville will host a panel discussion on education on Tuesday, Aug. 7­, at 7 p.m.  The panel will focus on school choice, common core standards, and the cost of education today.  

Panelists include Dr. David Longshore, representative to the South Carolina State School Board from Dorchester/Orangeburg; E. Ray Moore, Exodus Mandate in Columbia; Joe Kress, Dorchester County Taxpayers Association; and Julie  Borowski from FreedomWorks (Washington, D.C.).  The discussion will be led by Wiley Johnson.

A special mini-concert by the Bethel Youth Chorale from Rumania from 6:45 to 7:00 p.m. will precede the regular program.

A donation of $3 may be given at the door.

The group meets on the first Tuesday of every month at the Holiday Inn Express in Summerville.

Enjoy the pool or fitness center after a weary day of travel.
