First of Three New Burger Joints in Charleston Slated to Open in Summerville

Smashburger is making its entrance into the Charleston market with the first of its planned three restaurants slated to open in Summerville, according to a release by the company.

The location will be at Azalea Station near Interstate 26. It's the restaurant company's second location in South Carolina. Smashburger has 200 corporate and franchise restaurants operating in 29 states and in four international countries.

The other Charleston area location will open in the next two years.

“We are excited to introduce our better burger concept to Summerville. Our burgers start with certified-angus beef, topped with ingredients like fresh sliced avocado and are served on butter-toasted artisan buns,” says Smashburger Founder & Chief Concept Officer Tom Ryan. “The secret to our burgers is in the smash, which caramelizes the beef, creating a sear that locks in the juices resulting in a delicious burger you can taste in every bite.”

The restaurant company did not release a date on when the location will open.
