Job Link Center Opens in Knightsville

Goodwill opens building for job searches and resume building for the community.

The Knightsville Job Link Center is now open and providing services to the community. The 1,000-square-foot center is located inside the Knightsville Goodwill store and features two classrooms and computers that can be accessed for job searches and resume building at no charge to the community.

The grand opening of the Job Link Center was 10 a.m. Sept. 21 at 825 Orangeburg Road with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The center’s hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and open to everyone in the community offering career coaching, job training and other employment services.

“When people have economic independence, they tend to be happier, more confident and contribute more to their community,” Goodwill Vice President of Mission Services Jim Hughes said. “It is our mission to help every individual who walks through the doors of our Job Link Center in the Knightsville Goodwill store. We are excited to have the opportunity to make a difference in the community.”

Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina is a nonprofit social service organization whose mission is to help people achieve their full potential through the dignity and power of work. More than 90 percent of Goodwill’s revenue goes to fund mission related services. Goodwill serves their mission by providing career counseling, job training, and other employment related programs to people with barriers to employment. Last year, Goodwill placed over 560 people into new jobs and served over 30,850.
