Who's Scaring You?

Patch wants to know where the best haunted houses and trails are in your neighborhood.

Looking for thrills, chills and a frightening adventure, so is Patch.

We are looking for the "best of the best" when it comes to haunted houses and terrifying trails. Did it make you scream? Run? Hide? Cry for your mummy?

Send us your favorite "haunt" and we will pick the top three and let readers vote for the "scariest place" in all of Patch.

So while we are waiting to hear what rattles your chain, here's a list of creaking doors and wailing walls for you and your friends to check out:

Charleston

  • Ghost Tours, Ghost walks and graveyard walks are available most any night of the year. Check the visitor's bureau for a detailed list on tours available.
  • Haunted Harbor Tours depart from the Charleston Maritime Center at 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and at 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays through October. For more information on this tour.

Goose Creek

  • Halloween in the Swamp, 3030 Cypress Gardens Rd. Moncks Corner; 7:30-10:30 p.m. on Oct. 20, 21, 22; The Haunted Swamp Experience is a separate event not recommended for young children. A haunted boat adventure through the swamp followed by a walk along a haunted trail. Purchase online.

Hollywood

  • St. Paul's Academy Halloween Extravaganza, off Highway 165 at 5139 Gibson Road; open Oct. 15, 21 and 22; gates open at 6 p.m.; parking is free. House of Horrors tickets are $10; Haunted Hayride tickets are $10. For information, call 843-889-2702.

Mount Pleasant

  • Boone Hall Fright Nights: Terror Trail Hayride, an outdoor spookfest, Chaos Quarantine attraction, and Psycho Clowns in 3D, a spooky movie that features, you guessed it, super-scary clowns. Tickets may be purchases separately for $6 to $10, or one ticket to see all four scary attractions, $25. Check their site for more.

Summerville

  • Ghostwalk and Harvest Moon Hayride sponsored by Downtown Restoration, Enhancement and Management will host the annual Ghostwalk and Harvest Moon Hayride from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 29 in Historic Downtown Summerville. www.SummervilleDream.org.
