Military Personnel Get Jumpstart on Day of Caring

750 Navy Nuke School students will do maintenance on the Yorktown Friday.

A week before Trident United Way's Day of Caring, about 2,400 members of the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (Navy Nuke School) and Joint Base Charleston will grab their rakes, shovels, gloves, hammers, paint and classroom skills to volunteer at 50-plus projects around our three counties.

It’s all a preview of Trident United Way’s Day of Caring the following week. The sailors and flyers are busy protecting our nation on Friday, Sept. 13, so they’ll preview the full Day of Caring a week early, according to a release by Trident United Way.
