Obituary: Henry "Happy" Hopkins Dew

Henry “Happy” Hopkins Dew, 72, of Summerville, husband of Dorothy Smith, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Trident Medical Center.

Friends and family may call at James A. Dyal Funeral Home on Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock PM. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 10 o’clock AM at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Conway, SC.

Happy was born on May 19, 1941 in Conway, SC son of the late Fred Dew and Lettie Cannon Dew. He enjoyed music, watching old western movies, walking and especially spending time with his family. He worked with Westvaco for many years. He attended Cathedral of Praise.

Surviving in addition to his wife Dorothy are: One Step Daughter: Kathy Gulick (Randy) of North Charleston; Two Granddaughters: Sherry Gulick Walsh (Ray) of Summerville and Lisa Gulick Clapp (Ricky) of Givhans; Four Great Grandchildren: Gracie, Katelyn, Noah and Brady; One Sister: Nina Dew Stepherson of Knightsville; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Clark Dew and one sister, Emma Jean Dew.
