Lawrence “Lonnie” W. Sweat, Jr., 77, of Ladson, husband of Diann Sweat, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Trident Medical Center.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at James A. Dyal Funeral Home on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock PM.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Heritage Holiness Church, 3836 Ladson Road, Ladson, SC 29456 or Grace Fellowship, 3347 Ladson Road, Ladson, SC 29456.

Lonnie was born on February 15, 1936 in Charleston, SC son of the late Lawrence W. Sweat, Sr. and Reba Grooms Sweat. He graduated from North Charleston High School and then received his Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Clemson University. Lonnie enjoyed playing golf with his golfing buddies. He was owner of Sweat’s Logging Company and a member of Ladson Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife Diann are: Three Children: Gwendolyn Lemmon (Bud) of Ladson, Lawrence W. Sweat, III (Lora) of Summerville and Katherine Limehouse (Ricky) of Ladson; Four Grandchildren: Chappell, Karrlee, Landon and Chandler; One Brother: Donald Sweat (Donna) of Ladson; One Sister In Law: Phyllis Sweat of Ladson. He was preceded in death by one brother, William Sweat.
