Obituary: Margie Lee Feagin Miles

Mrs. Margie Lee Feagin Miles, 86, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, June the 19th, 2013, in the White Oak Manor Nursing Home in North Charleston after a long illness. Mrs. Miles was born in Williamsburg County on May the 12th, 1927. She was a daughter of the late Clarence Mayberry Feagin and the late Eula Mae Floyd Feagin, and was the widow of the late Delbert Wade Miles. Mrs. Miles was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Goose Creek and retired from Hunter Manufacturing Company as a seamstress supervisor after thirty-five years of service. She loved cooking and serving her family and many friends. Mrs. Miles was a loving, dedicated, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Miles’ surviving family includes her son, Gene Rovone Miles (Nancy), of Summerville; her six grandchildren, Dell Miles (Sheri), of Walterboro, Tamara Siemers (David), of Summerville, Maxcine Maxted (Tony), of Aiken, Gene R. Miles, Jr. (Lori), of Summerville, Wendy Powell, of Summerville, and Dee Sims (Jody), of Summerville; her thirteen great-grandchildren, Nicholas Siemers, Jack Miles, Brittany Miles, Christopher Miles, Jenna Maxted, Zachary Miles, Cameron Miles, Drew Duffie, Amber Smith, Shea Moon, James Sims, Austin Sims, and Peyton Sims; her two sisters, May Stanfield (Gary), of Goose Creek, and Mildred Driggers, of Lake City; and her daughter-in-law, Jean Utnick, of Summerville.

Mrs. Miles is preceded in death by her two sons, C.M. Miles and Jack D. Miles; and her brother, Jackson Feagin.

The family of Mrs. Miles had calling hours from two until four o’clock p.m., on Saturday, June the 22nd, in the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Miles were held at four o’clock p.m., on Saturday, June the 22nd, in the Keels Brockington Memorial Funeral Chapel of Brockington Funeral Home.

Burial and committal services were held immediately following the funeral in the Old Piney Grove Cemetery.
