Phrontis N. Dukes, 85, of Summerville, widow of Charles Gilbert Dukes, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital.
Burial will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 1 o’clock at Beaufort National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 1 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Summerville Baptist Church, 417 Central Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483.

Mrs. Dukes was born June 12, 1927 in Aiken, South Carolina, daughter of Olin Leonard Beck and Lenora Barton Beck. She was a graduate of Aiken High School. She was a member of Summerville Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing with the Joy Singers, and she especially loved her Sunday School Class. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed reading and gardening.
Surviving are one son: Frank Dukes (Bonnie) of Winston Salem, NC and one daughter: Deborah Ham (Grady) of Ladson, two grandchildren: Rebecca Ham of Charlotte, NC and Alexander Ham of Ladson, one brother: Calvin Beck of Aiken, SC and one sister: Eloise Crouch of North Augusta, SC and many nieces and nephews.
