Shirley Jean Peoples, 63, of Summerville, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Trident Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 11 o’clock AM at Faith Assembly of God, 337 Farmington Road, Summerville. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville.

Shirley was born on February 17, 1950 in Fairfield County, SC, daughter of Pauline Suber Peoples of Summerville and the late Golden Peoples, Sr. She was a graduate of Franklin K. Lane High School in Brooklyn, NY and attended New York University and Miller Monte College. Shirley loved gardening, traveling and singing. She was a very accomplished singer. Shirley retired from the United States Air Force after serving for 22 years. She was a member of Faith Assembly of God.
Surviving are: Two Sons: Michael Maurice Scott Baucham and Noel Wade Curtis of Summerville; Two Grandchildren: Filine Elea Desear Curtis and Courtese Jayden Curtis of Summerville; One Sister: Malvenia Peoples of Wilmington, NC; One Brother: Golden Peoples, Jr. of Wilmington, NC; Three Nephews: Patrick Choel Peoples, Shawn Peoples and Cameron Peoples; Two Nieces: LaShawnda Peoples and Aiesha Peoples. Shirley Jean Peoples has gone to be with her two sisters, Jacqueline Peoples and Gloria Ann Peoples.
