Altercation at Ashley Ridge Leads to Arrest

Juvenile arrested after fight in high school cafeteria.

A  deputy intervened in a physical altercation Sept. 14 in the cafeteria of Ashley Ridge High School.

One of the students was charged with disorderly conduct, but the other student declined prosecution for 3rd degree assault, deputies said.

According to the incident report, the students were in a verbal fight regarding a sister. The sister's brother became physical, allegedly striking the other boy several times. The other boy began to fight back, according to the report.

The fight was separated without incident, according to the report. The boy who initiated the physical fight was taken to Dorchester County jail where he was charged.
