Summerville Police are teaming up with Charleston Police to track down a suspect they say is responsible for two home invasions in their jurisdictions.
A police sketch has been released. The man pictured is thought to be one of two men involved in the crimes.
On June 14, two unmasked Vietnamese men knocked on a victim’s door in Summerville, asking for his daughter by name. Once the victim answered the door, the two men, who were wearing gloves, entered the victim’s residence by force and asked about money. The victim’s grandchildren were present during the incident but were told to go into a bedroom. The suspects forced the victim into a bedroom where he was bound with his hands behind his back and his eyes covered. The victim was moved into a bathroom by the suspects, while the suspects searched the entire residence. It is believed the suspects stayed inside the residence for an hour or longer searching for money. The suspects stole $400 in cash and $4,500 in jewelry from the residence. The children were unharmed during this incident.
On June 16, two masked and gloved men forcibly entered a victim’s residence in Charleston. One of the suspects was armed with a black handgun. The victim was then bound and forced to remain in her bedroom as the suspects searched her residence for money. After taking about $400 out of her purse, the suspects stated they needed more. The armed suspect remained with the victim while the other suspects took the victim’s car keys and removed cash, jewelry, and a phone from her vehicle. The victim’s juvenile children were home but unharmed during the incident.
