Man 'Endangered' and Missing

Police ask for help statewide in search for George Jackson.

Lowcountry authorities have launched a statewide search for a 69-year-old man missing for more than 24 hours.

George L. Jackson was last seen Thursday around 9:30 p.m. in Mount Pleasant. Police have not released details about the disappearance, but Jackson is listed as "endangered," according to a police news release.

Jackson’s light-colored 2005 Toyota Camry, S.C. Tag No. 566-6DV, is also missing, police said. Jackson has family in the Greenville area as well as Columbia. The man has gray hair and brown eyes. He stands 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds.

Mount Pleasant police earlier in the week launched a search for a 36-year-old man who did not return from a boat trip. The cases are not related. The vessel was found a day later overturned 16 miles off the coast. That individual still has not been located.

Individuals with information about either case are asked to call Mount Pleasant Police at 843-884-4176 or 843-856-3027.
