Meth Lab Busted in Pine Hill Acres

Dorchester County deputy allegedly observes suspect handling meth-making equipment through window of home.

Dorchester County deputies busted a suspected methamphetamine lab in Pine Hill Acres at around 3 a.m. Monday after a deputy observed the suspect handling the drug manufacturing equipment through a home's window and smelled a pungent chemical smell.

The 25-year-old suspect has been identified and warrants are pending. Charges are expected to include possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

According to the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office incident report, a deputy responded to the home in reference to a complaint about a chemical smell. Upon arrival, the deputy could smell the odor and approached the home. Through an unobstructed living room window, the deputy allegedly saw the suspect handling black tubing, mason jars and a lighter consistent with meth manufacturing.

Two other people were inside the home at 242 Cady Drive.

According to the incident report, the suspect claimed the other two had nothing to do with the operation.
