More than $18,000 in Pills Stolen from CVS

Armed robber makes off with oxycodone pills from CVS on North Main Street.

Summerville Police are looking for a man they say stole more than $18,000 in prescription pills from .

The unidentified suspect robbed the store at gunpoint just after 2 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, and made off with hundreds of pills of the powerful prescription narcotic oxycodone. The drug is in the opiate family and is used to treat moderate to severe pain, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine

According to the incident report, a white man with a brown mustache entered the CVS with a semi-automatic pistol. The man is described as between the ages of 30-35, around 6-feet tall and 220 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

The employee in the front of the store called to the employee in the back of the store while the suspect placed the weapon as his back. The suspect had the second employee fill bags with the oxycodone pills. 

After obtaining the pills, the robber told the employees to lie face down in the middle of the store. When they complied, he fled the exit. The employees did not see which direction the man left.

When law enforcement arrived, a K-9 unit was deployed but was unsuccessful in tracking the suspect. The track ended at the nearby Arby's parking lot.
