Woman Found Dead in Back Seat of Vehicle

Arrested subject covered in a 'large amount' of blood, according to police.

Update: Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury has identified the body found as Jasmine Marrone, 21, of Tennessee. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Original Report: Police have arrested a man they say had a dead woman in the back seat of his vehicle, covered by blankets, Sunday morning at a Shell gas station near I-26 on North Main Street. 

Officers originally responded to the area to invesigate a possible intoxicated subject, who was then detained for an outstanding out-of-state warrant.

Officers noticed a "large amount" of blood on his clothing, according to a police statement. Opening the vehicle door, officers discovered the deceased woman.

Police have not released the victim's name or the name of the subject's name as of Sunday.
