I Can't Drive 35

Sign along Dorchester Road urges frustrated drivers to call their councilman.

County Councilman Larry Hargett began receiving a lot of phone calls this week after a sign was posted on Dorchester Road saying: "Like Driving 35? Call Larry Hargett."

The state highway department lowered the speed limit on the road due to preliminary work kicking off .

"People don't like the speed limit being dropped to 35, but I didn't have anything to do with it," Hargett said.

Some portions of the road used to have a speed limit of 55 mph.

The sign was removed by Friday evening, presumably by Hargett who told Patch he would remove it as soon as possible.
