Friday Football: Green Wave, Patriots Win

Fort Dorchester Patriots grab second win of season, Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes fall to 0-2.

Summerville High Green Wave bagged its first win of the season Friday against Berkeley High — and the score proved the Wave could give a thumping at 36-12, according to MaxPreps.com.

Last week's opening game against Cane Bay, which made its AAAA debut with a 10-3 win against the team with the nation's winningest coach, Coach John McKissick. McKissick is poised to get win No. 600. Friday's win brought the tally to 595. This is his 61st football season with the Green Wave. 

The team is now 1-1 for the season. Summerville takes on powerhouse Goose Creek next week. .

Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes haven't started the season looking like the regional champions. Friday they fell to Wando 31-13 in a home game, according to MaxPreps.com.

The Swamp Foxes are 0-2. They take on West Ashley, which is also shares a 0-2 record for season, next week.

Fort Dorchester Patriots have started the 2012 season strong, beating Cane Bay 34-28 for a 2-0 start.

Live 5 News reported the game went into overtime for the Patriots to come out on top.
