Students rallied Friday at Oakbrook Elementary for a chance to dunk Principal Monica O'Dea — or as one student put it: "Payback for all that homework."
"We're just trying to start the year off in a fun way," PTA hospitality and personal relations chair Susan Clemens said.
Held during school hours, the event was to raise PTA membership. If parents signed up for PTA, their kids got three throws at O'Dea.
O'Dea, good-naturely, agreed to be the "bait."
"This year our focus is to involve more parents in our school environment," she said.
