science is irrelevant...seems like faith needs some more development.

I, myself wouldn't donate even if I were offered a million in cash on the spot. But that's another…Read More story. What grabs my craw is, people have to be lured and bribed in order for them to give. If it's a good cause, then people should volunteer more often. Not just when there's a "Drive" with a possible reward. I know many will disagree with me but I'm looking at it from an altruistic angle. You know?!

SC needs to pass a law similar to NC's better protecting animals and making more penalties for those…Read More who commit cruel acts toward animals. Someone knows this poor animal and should report the owner to the authorities to at least try to find the culprit.

Sorry guys, tired of playing. I was just refering to all of the posts, a lot of which seemed to be…Read More from folks that don't even live in SC. I read a lot of the posts on the Patch and I can't help but wonder if a lot of people commenting with such personal comments might have been picked on or bulied as kids or in high school and now they feel as though they are getting even, behind their computer and keyboard. Maybe I'm wrong, wouldn't be the first time. But, some folks on here (patch) just seem to be a little, off, politics aside.

That is correct KMG. Not sure if if was a request from my GP or my Insurance carrier, but DO KNOW I…Read More am not the only one with this new requirement as several of my friends have also mentioned it. I believe the VA hospitals may be doing it too now as a couple of my friends have mentioned it also. But not positive on that. Its the 21st Century now, you didnt expect things not to change with it did you? Insurance companies don't like paying out for self induced drawn out drug related illnesses & deaths . Thats why they are NOW willing to cover Rehab services instead.
JDVEHORN May 10, 2013 at 03:29 pm
Wish they had covered patches & lozenges, & e sticks when I WAS GIVING UP CIGS!! I had to do…Read More it the old fashioned way & suffer through it, But they are saving millions on cancer treatments & deaths by providing treatment alternatives, alcohol rehab is a lot cheaper than covering liver transplants, yes weed WILL give you lung cancer so again the Rehabs are cheaper solutions. etc etc... long story short, Insurance companies sin't paying for yo weed & tall boy & crack addictions no more!! Hell, they dont even like paying out for honest bad luck illnesses anymore. Just the way it is. They gotta stay in business too you know. lol

SDR you are correct. However if you look at the numbers more carefully you find that BCAN's avg…Read More salary is $39,000 per employee. Susan G Koman, considered one of the best cancer charities by charitynavigator has an average employee salary of over $76,000. The reason BCAN's % is high is because they are only a few years old and bladder cancer does not get the recognition and fame that breast cancer does. As donations increase, overhead % will decrease. That is why the Scouts are helping to try to change that. As my Mom used to say, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." I pray you or your family is never affected by this horrible disease.

Thanks to all of you who walk cancer walks who buy candle bags for the survivors and those who did not survive. God bless you all and thanks again
