Parents ruin sports..

Alan I agree. Parents coach to get their kids and kids friends a leg up. Kids are choosen too basedRead More on parents and kids being friends. Take AAU and All-Stars and positions in each sport. Parents coach because they want their kid in prime positions, kids are friends with certain kids or because a family does not like someone but the kid has talent not playing. You need "out of area" coaches to come and determine if a kid is "that good" to be at the next level not "locals" whom coach because that is the only way the kid will get playing time.

sportsnut: Seems like a perfect opportunity for you to get involved in coaching... If nothingRead More else, becoming a coach will give you a voice in the league to lobby for equal playing time for all kids, and rotation of positions--particularly at the lower levels.

Summerville needs to spend more time on the practice field. 10 for 40 in passing will not win manyRead More games, especially when you don't have a running game.

Unfortunate Observation at WA/Summerville Game Edit | ReplyRead More -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I observed something that was unfortunate at the West Ashley/Summerville game; There were few fans on the WA side of the field. One would think that when your team was 4-0, the attendance would be better. I suppose that happens to many teams, but does little for the players who put everything into playing the game. Had the fans been required to travel a great distance, I could accept the fact for a scant attendance, but WA isn't exactly on the other side of the state. Come on fans, support your teams.

Lindsay: I am not putting the blame on you, but when one puts something in writing for publicRead More consumption, you should check for accuracy, otherwise, one would accept the posting as gospel. There does appear to be less emphasis on Greenwave football, particularly since Ashley Ridge was doing well for a couple of years.

Maybe A J can find his clone to help the Greenwave. The team hasn't been the same since he left.
